Consumer Centricity, Customer Service, and 8 Laws. YPPE#3

If you are customer centric, if your company is customer centric it goes far beyond actual customer service. Being truly customer centric reflects your ability to show customer oriented leadership, it shows your ability to understand your customer. You have designed the experience they have for THEM, you empower them, you put them first, you design ways to measure their satisfaction and you correct the customer centric ship when it… Read More »Consumer Centricity, Customer Service, and 8 Laws. T Minus 15: BORING!

T-minus fifteen weeks until the Eugene Marathon and I have to say that this week has created a more hopeful attitude about the journey ahead. While it was far from a perfect week, it has ended on a high note and for that I am thankful. Yesterday (Saturday) I ran 10 miles. I wasn’t supposed to, theoretically it was scheduled as an 8 mile run. But I just felt so darned good… Read More »T Minus 15: BORING!

Are You PRO or RE?

“Don’t think, React!” That was the daily advice of my Junior High School basketball coach, Mr. Korwin. He believed that if we spent too long pondering the next move on the court, we would be prone to mistakes, indecisiveness, and poor judgment. For us, gangly eighth graders, it may well have been excellent advice. Better advice might have been to learn to be proactive rather than reactive. If we could anticipate the… Read More »Are You PRO or RE?

SWOT? No, SDOO. Let’s talk STRENGTHS! YPPE #2

With the new year already in full swing, most of you have put together either resolutions, goals, or plans OR some variation of all of those. And while we business planners reinforce important things like our vision statement, set new goals, play with the budget and finances, and carefully design our action plan; we ignore a key component of success in this year: 2018. Strengths.

Optimism and 2018 YPPE #1

So here we are, saying good-bye to 2017 and look to the coming year with hope and anticipation. Honestly, I can’t help but to think it’s going to be an excellent year. The question, then, becomes: How do I (I meaning you, me, anybody) make it a better year, or at least have it be as good as we’d like it? For me, the answer has always been clear: OPTIMISM!

Every-Other-Step at a Time

I know from experience that it will be this way for a while: the fear, the gingerness (is that a word?), the focus on each and every time my left foot hits the earth and engages everything that happens up to and beyond my tender knee. Am I slapping my foot down with too much force? Is it going to buckle THIS time? Have I maneuvered one more every-other-step on the road… Read More »Every-Other-Step at a Time

Thanks @running_usa, I’m Inspired to Reflect

Had the pleasure today to “chat” with a pretty incredible young woman today on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/running_usa/ is where you will find her “running_usa.” Her goal is to race in every state in the good old USA, and it appears as though she is well on her way. 10 down, 40 to go. AND….. she has also run in some pretty cool spots outside of our country. Thailand, Japan, Cambodia, the Greek Islands;… Read More »Thanks @running_usa, I’m Inspired to Reflect

You Can Trash 2017 AND One Year Warranties Suck!

So tomorrow, New Years Eve, I will probably run 5 miles. That will bring the total for 2017 to 1473. That is the worst mileage total for me since 2008 AND my eighth lowest year EVER! So, from the running standpoint, you can take 2017 and put it exactly where the picture on the left indicates: the TRASH.Don’t get me wrong, the rest of my life is pretty okay. I… Read More »You Can Trash 2017 AND One Year Warranties Suck!

2018 and Optimism As a Choice

Happy New Year! As we say good-bye to 2017 and look to the coming year with hope and anticipation, I can’t help but to think it’s going to be an excellent year. The question, then, becomes: How do I (that’s you, me, anybody) make it a better year, or at least as good as we’d like it? For me, the answer has always been clear: Optimism. It has been said that… Read More »2018 and Optimism As a Choice

If you’re beginning to feel the pressure of running out of time to find the perfect gift, here are a few suggestions that may not be on their “list” but will certainly be appreciated.
