Happy Thanksgiving

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” – William Arthur Ward

I love Thanksgiving. Sure, forget Pilgrims, Indians, imperialism…. just breathe and reflect on the simple, yet loving idea behind the holiday: Gratitude.

Thanksgiving in this country was held to celebrate the first harvest in the New World and to reflect on other blessings of the year. Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated on various dates in the United States, Canada, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and Liberia – unofficially in several other lands. Oddly, Thanksgiving didn’t catch on throughout the world like, say, Christmas. Maybe it’s the lack of gifts. So, let’s change that.

In my life, I have received a plethora of lousy gifts, many of which were highly uninspiring. I have, however, never received an expression of gratitude that I didn’t completely appreciate. So, let’s incorporate some newly found shared gratitude this Thanksgiving. It’s easy to be thankful in solitude. Instead, let your giving-thanks attitude circulate to all whom you deem worthy (and some on the borderline). Let’s really give thanks and share it with those for whom we are thankful. Pick up the phone, send the thankful text, or better yet, make the thankful call. You’ll feel awesome. So will they.

Lastly, I thank YOU for taking a little bit of time, from time to time, to allow me into your business, and your life.

Happy Thanksgiving.
