The Bible says, “Judge not, lest ye be judged.”
When most people contemplate that Biblical quote, they think of judging others and while that may have been Jesus’ intent, I think there is someone else we ought to be careful about judging: ourselves.
Don’t get me wrong, judging others is a relationship and attitude killer. Judgment is the brother or sister of comparison, envy, bitterness. And I have no room for those.
There are a lot of things I would like to have and do in this life. Most of them have nothing to do with what you have or want to do. And if you’ve had tremendous success, I think that’s great. I just don’t have room for jealousy or the other judgmental things that come with it.
Worse than this “other” judgment, is self judgment.
