The Best of 2020, Pandemic Year: Books, Shows, and Gratitude

  • by

Christmas has come and gone, and pretty much 2020 has as well. For many, the arrival of 2021 is a welcome event as most have found 2020 to be a highly objectionable year. The reasons for that have been highlighted, and will be highlighted in many a new year in review. So, I will pass and choose to focus on the upside of the closing year. After all, the hope… Read More »The Best of 2020, Pandemic Year: Books, Shows, and Gratitude

Something New, Something Old

  • by

I’ve done enough to know I miss it, and I love it. So I’m BACK! Effective Jan 1, I will be launching my Peak Performance Run Coaching program. As a runner, I have committed to over 54 years of running and over 116,000 miles. As a Coach, I have successfully guided an Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier, Boston qualifiers, numerous collegiate and high school All-Americans, countless State Champions, and plenty of people who… Read More »Something New, Something Old

Blue Jeans

The thought hit me as I heard a podcast guest say to the host, “I was the kid who wore a hole through the knees of my jeans from working and playing so hard.” Exactly. That’s the way it used to be, you rolled, fell, worked, ripped, and even played your way through a pair of jeans. The rips, tatters, shreds, and holes were all earned, almost like merit badges.… Read More »Blue Jeans

Finish With A Bang! 2020 in 2020!

So, with 26 days to go in 2020, I made a decision. I am going to run the year. While I have spent the last few months analyzing my miles in the hope that I would reach 2000 for the year, I have now shifted to that wonderful concept of running the year you’re in. It’s 2020 in 2020 and ending the year with a bang. As has been mentioned in… Read More »Finish With A Bang! 2020 in 2020!

Catching Up……. BORING!!!!

  • by

It’s been quite awhile since I last submitted to this blog extravaganza! Mostly, it’s been pretty boring out there on the trails and roads as I trudge along in my pedestrian manner. Also, with no races and pretty much no races in sight, it’s boring out here. A few things to mention: first, and foremost, my knee has been consistently okay. Not great, not super, not look out Eliud Kipchoge….. just consistently okay. I… Read More »Catching Up……. BORING!!!!

It Gets To You, If You Let It…

  • by

I had a sixteen day stretch rolling into this month where I was either teaching or traveling to teach 15 of those days. That’s nothing new for October, in fact, it is one of the busiest months in a normal year. This year, however, that stretch was tougher. AND, I let it get to me. I love to teach. I have since that first day at the Middle School on… Read More »It Gets To You, If You Let It…

Market Peek September 2020

Buyers are making up for lost time. The pending listings are up 22.3% from last year. Even new listings are up, but if you’re a Seller, how can you resist? Average closed price back up over $530K, still nothing for Buyers to pick from, so it’s good to be a Seller. It’s extremely difficult to gauge where this thing is going. I didn’t really expect to see active listings so… Read More »Market Peek September 2020

Still Learning Through the Pandemic?

So, here we are. This Corona Virus thing is still around. This country, and the people in it, are pretty goofy (nicest, softest word I could come up with). No one knows when this will pass. What have you been doing? While states have opened up businesses to varying degrees, things are still less than normal. Masks are commonplace here in Colorful Colorado (no idea when that will change), agents… Read More »Still Learning Through the Pandemic?

Pops and Buckles: What Happens to My Knee

  • by

I was running down the Kestrel trail in the foothills near Boise last night and it happened: my knee popped. Then a minute later it did it again. Then three minutes later, it half buckled. Well, I can handle the occasional pop (even though I haven’t had one in weeks), but the half buckle is almost as scary as the full one. Pops…. Buckles….. what’s this guy talking about? Pops… Read More »Pops and Buckles: What Happens to My Knee
