What Will You Learn?

thought-2123970_640“Change is the end result of all true learning.” – Leo Buscaglia

“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” – Tony Robbins

Those two quotes really sit well together for me. If we want to get better, if we want to get to the next level, whatever that is for you (or me), some change must occur. If you do what you’ve always done….. right?

So what do I (or you) have to learn to make that change that leads to a new level of success? Is it something in a class? Something from a book worth reading? Maybe a blogpost, a video, a mentor, a complete stranger? Learning happens everywhere. When the student is ready, they say, the teacher appears. Readiness is about openness. It’s about willingness. It’s also about humility. True learning happens when we recognize that we want to be different than we were yesterday (hopefully in a good way) and are willing to make the effort to grow. We are willing to accept that we can be even better. That, by the way, takes self-awareness.

Gary Vaynerchuk says, “Selfawareness allows people to recognize what things they do best so they can then go hard on those aspects of their life.” We don’t know what we need to know or learn until we know what we need to know or learn (WOW, THAT is deep, right?). But truly, we can’t really know where we want to go until we know where we are. So, part of willing and open is being self aware.

I encourage you to grow in 2019. Take the time. Make the effort. Open up. Take the leap. Do that big thing, or do that little thing. Either way, DO! Take action. Have a great year.
